Celebrating Creativity at Oxfordshire Artweeks 2025

Oxfordshire Artweeks, the UK's oldest and largest open studios and pop-up exhibition event, returns this May, inviting art enthusiasts to explore the rich tapestry of creativity woven across the county. From May 3rd to 26th, over 1,000 artists will showcase their work in more than 400 venues, including studios, galleries, gardens, and historic sites .

Freddy Paske: Nature's Narrator

Renowned for his award-winning figurative art, Freddy Paske draws inspiration from the natural world to explore the relationship between what is shown and what is seen. His accolades include serving as Artist-in-Residence during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 . Paske's work invites viewers into a dialogue about perception and the environment, offering a contemplative experience that resonates with both art lovers and nature enthusiasts. My favourite piece was The Lookout Lorikeet, capturing your attention as soon as you walk through the door. Visit Freddy until the 18th May at The Clubhouse, Boham's Road, Blewbury, OX11 9HF

Karina Tarin: Myth and Nature Intertwined

Karina Tarin's paintings are a celebration of nature's beauty and the myths that have shaped human understanding. Influenced by Medieval and Renaissance art, and classical mythology, her works often depict birds and animals as individuals with their own stories to tell. Tarin's art invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world, blending realism with fantasy to create compelling narratives. My favourite piece is Grace and Wisdom, encapsulating both her depth and vulnerability in this loving embrace. To view Karina's works please visit her website. You can find more of her work on Instagram.

Woodstock's Week of Creativity: "Art, Mind & Soul"

Woodstock's contribution to Artweeks 2025 introduces "Art, Mind & Soul," a week-long celebration of creativity and well-being. This initiative encourages visitors to engage in a 'Mindful Meander' through the town, experiencing art installations in shop windows, cafés, and salons. The route incorporates the 54321 mindfulness method—inviting participants to notice five things they can see, four they can touch, and so on—to promote presence and reduce anxiety. Artweek in Woodstock runs from the 17th - 26th May, and I can't wait to take a look.
