A Personal Shoppers Guide to Interior Shopping in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds
A Personal Shoppers Guide to Interior Shopping in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds
By Anna Wakeham
Buying your new house is often only the first step in the journey. It takes hours of searching and scouring interiors shops to find all the big and little items which will turn your new house into a home. Many of our clients employ an interior designer to help with the process. Not only do they have great design ideas and help save you time and money, but they also know all the best places to shop.
So, we recently asked Anna Wakeham of Anna Wakeham Interior Design to give us her take on the best places to shop in Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds for your own interiors. Here are Anna’s top tips.

“Finding the right chair, a gorgeous curtain trim, the perfect side table, or a well-placed antique can transform a house into a home and can often make a homeowner feel more excited than the design plans themselves.
Luckily for us, Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds have some of the best places in the UK to source furniture, antiques and accessories. If you’re lucky enough to already live in the area or soon to be moving to it, some of these may even be on your doorstep."
These are some of our favourite places to look for unique home items and antiques:

Studio HÁM – Henley-on-Thames
Studio HÁM is a boutique design studio and showroom offering contemporary furniture, lighting, and accessories to those in the know. Based in Henley, they champion British craftsmanship and collaborate with artisans to create bespoke, timeless pieces. Looking for unique sofas, lighting or art? Look no further. A truly unique find.
Why we love it: All their stock is totally unique and you will find items here that simply don’t exist elsewhere. Their bathroom vanity units are standout.

Lorfords Antiques – Tetbury
Located in two converted aircraft hangars at Babdown Airfield just outside Tetbury, Lorfords Antiques is nothing short of extraordinary. With over 150 dealers under one roof, it’s one of the UK’s largest collections of antiques, covering everything from Georgian chests and gilt mirrors to mid-century furniture. We source antiques from Lorfords on most of our interior design projects, they have a wider collection than almost anyone and if they don’t have what you’re after, they’ll help you find it.
Why we love it: Endless variety and impeccable quality — it’s antique heaven.
Burford Garden Company – Burford
Burford Garden Company is a treasure trove of furniture, lighting, books, art, and home accessories. Their collections mix British craftsmanship with global finds, giving you endless ways to add character to your home.
This is a favourite destination when sourcing for photoshoots or looking for smaller lesser-known accessory brands.
Why we love it: It’s not just shopping — it’s a day out. More than worth a visit (and to pick up a new fruit bowl)

Brownrigg Interiors – Tetbury
Brownrigg Interiors has earned its reputation as one of the most stylish antique shops in the UK. This is an antique shop for a serious buyer. Their curated collection mixes French, Swedish, Spanish, and English antiques with a modern eye, ensuring everything feels relevant and design-forward.
This is a must-visit for elegant mirrors, painted furniture, and one-of-a-kind pieces with a European flavour. We often source items from Brownrigg to bring depth and personality to both modern and classic spaces.
The best thing: to chat to staff about trends and other furniture in store

The Juniper Barn – Cane End, Oxfordshire
Our secret find!
Nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside, The Juniper Barn is a hidden gem for rustic yet refined interiors. Offering furniture, vintage finds, and beautiful accessories, the barn is curated with an eye for timeless style and relaxed living. From farmhouse tables to decorative glassware, Juniper Barn captures that perfect mix of charm and practicality. It’s a destination we love to recommend to clients seeking pieces for a much-loved home.
Why we love it: The barn is full of character, making every visit feel like discovering a secret source of treasures.

Restoration Hardware, Aynhoe Park
Just falling outside of Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds but too good not to mention, is Restoration Hardware – the US homeware store that is now here in the UK. It is one of our most requested brands and is incredibly popular with both American and South African clients. Think neutral tones, luxury fabrics, mega sizes (although most items available smaller) all shown in splendour at stately home Aynhoe Park.
The best thing: the in-house interior design service. Oh, and the valet parking”
